Our Tracks
The exciting journey will start with 6 hours trekking through Thangamalay Forest Reserve trail, starting from Haputale to Misty Mountain Lodge.

The 2nd day you can choose to relax in our lodge or to join our open trekking groups. Choose between 2 trails accessible from the lodge. (Below The Worlds End & Horton Plains)

On the 3rd day, you are free to join our other treks and trails to complete your visit to Ohiya and the Horton Plains
and to have the full experience of this unique and unspoilt region.

The most interesting way leaving the Misty Mountain is by a 5 hour walk, passing Sri Lankas tallest waterfall. Bambarakanda Waterfall Trail will lead us over hills with infinite panoramas and more waterfalls, to a smaller waterfall to have a swim there. Later we will meet our bus that will take us back to Haputale and Bandarawela.
Thanggamalay Trek (Getting up to the Lodge)

Starting from Haputale Trainstaion we start walking through the Thangamalay Forest Reserve, via Eucalyptus forests and jungle, via tea estates and wonderful countrysides seeing Sri Lanka from its best side. This route is one of the hidden treks which usually stays undiscovered by the average tourist and includes a way through impressive tea estates and gorgeous hillcountrysides. The whole tour will take approximately 6 hours, but rewards the participants with unique impressions. Far off from any street or town, we are able to see enormous amounts of stars and shooting stars at night from our lodge.
Horton Plains Trek

After breakfast we will trek to the Horton Plains, Sri Lanka's highest plateau of more than 2200m above seal level. This is one of most beautiful treks passing by various landscapes of untouched hills and grass countrysides including spectacular views. From the 1200m high World's End we can admire the excellent view and numerous rare bird species.
5 hours walk. After lunch the tour leads us back to our bungalow..
Under the Worlds End Trek

Trekking right below the Worlds End. Here we are still very close the the Horton Plains and its fantastic landscaped and unique vegetation. A light 5 hour trek. We stop along the way for a long picnic session and to enjoy the sceneries and view points. Afterwards we trek a different path back to our lodge.
Bambarakanda & Lanka Waterfall Trail
(Getting down from the Lodge)

Altitude: max 1800 m
Duration: 5 hrs
Distance: 13km
Start Point: Misty Moutain Lodge 1610m
End Point: Kalupahana 1000m

To return and trek down from the mountains, we will hike to the Bambarakanda Waterfall. The highest in Sri Lanka. We will hike over hills with infinite panoramas and more waterfalls, to a smaller waterfall to have a swim there. Later we will meet our bus that will take us back to Haputale and Bandarawela. From here on you have the option to transfer to our homestay in bandarawela, spent a night, do a cooking class with the family and get ready for another Trek with us around Haputale (tea trails) and Ella, ( Ella Rock) on the following day.
